Building Closed-Loop Browser Automation with Playwright and AI Agents
How to combine deterministic browser control with model-guided planning and reliable verification.
PlaywrightAI AgentsAutomation
Browser agents become useful when model judgment is wrapped in deterministic controls. The model should propose intent; Playwright should execute and verify it.
Separate planning from action
Keep browser state, allowed actions, and success criteria explicit. Every interaction should produce an observable result that can be checked before the loop continues.
Prefer semantic selectors
Use roles, accessible names, and stable test identifiers. Avoid selectors that depend on visual position or generated class names.
Close the loop
Capture the result, compare it with the expected state, and retry only when the failure is understood. Bounded retries are a reliability feature, not a limitation.
